In January, 2022 Dr. Assaf traveled to Villarica, Chile and was a invited keynote speaker at Universidad Catolica de Temuco, Chile on Social Constructivist Theories and Writerly Identities.

In January 2018, Dr. Assaf was a keynote speaker on Third Space in the College Writing Center. Universidad Diego Portales y Universidad Alberto Hurtado, Santiago, Chile and sat on a panel of speakers on Social Constructivism and Writing Instruction at the Universidad Diego Portales y Universidad Alberto Hurtado, Santiago, Chile.

In September, Dr. Assaf traveled to Santiago, Chile with faculty in the CLAS program at Texas State University. She is collaborating with Dr. Soledad Concha and Doctoral Candidate Maria Jesus Espinosa Aguirre from the Universidad de Diego Portales on a study to examine teachers’ beliefs and practices about writing instruction.
